How we pick — and what we refuse to pretend
Home Tech is a dedicated lander for Abt Electronics. That is a conflict of interest. It is also the point of a dedicated lander: one advertiser, said out loud, with the cases where that advertiser loses.
The default is commercial, not a trophy
CJ program 4601919 is Abt Electronics. This site exists to send readers who want a specialty appliance and electronics retailer toward Abt’s own homepage, with a sponsored hop. We may also hop to Electronic Express (CJ 7227611) when the sister use-case is a better fit. We do not run a scored “best of 2026” ribbon. We do not invent laboratory tests we did not perform.
If a reader would be better served by a warehouse club, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, or a marketplace parcel, the guides say so. Mention is not an affiliate relationship. We would rather lose a click than ship someone a freight nightmare in the name of a default.
What a pick is allowed to rest on
- The merchant’s public help pages for delivery, install, and haul-away.
- Whether the merchant is a showroom, a regional chain, or a marketplace.
- Whether the SKU is a parcel, a two-person carry, or a hooked-up appliance.
- Whether you can physically visit a floor model before you spend four figures.
What a pick is not allowed to rest on
- Invented prices, “from $X,” or coupon codes.
- Fake star ratings, editor’s choice badges, or testimonials we did not receive.
- Scraped in-stock counts or a counterfeit Abt product grid.
- Impersonating Abt, Electronic Express, Amazon, or any big-box brand.
ZIP, then SKU, then cart
For anything that needs a crew, the ZIP code is the first filter. Abt publishes a local service story around Glenview, Illinois, and a different nationwide shipping story. Electronic Express publishes a local story around Tennessee and Northern Alabama, and freight outside that. Amazon and big-box have their own maps. We will not pretend those maps are the same.
